A heat pump extracts warmth from the outside air and uses it to heat your home and hot water, even in cold weather. It works like a fridge in reverse, moving heat rather than generating it, which is why it can be up to 450% efficient. For every £1 of electricity you put in, you can get £4.50 worth of heat out.
Most homes can benefit from a heat pump, but the honest answer is that it depends on your specific property. That’s exactly why we do a full, free, on-site survey before recommending anything. Don’t assume yours won’t work. Talk to us first.
We design all our systems to run between 40 and 45°C, what’s known as ultra-low flow temperature. This maximises your heat pump’s efficiency and keeps running costs as low as possible. It’s one of the most important decisions in a heat pump design, and it’s something we’re very deliberate about.
In most retrofit cases, yes, but that’s not a bad thing. Running a heat pump at low temperatures requires slightly larger radiators to project enough heat into each room. As part of your survey and design, we’ll assess every radiator in your home and recommend which ones need upgrading. The result is a more modern, better-looking heating system that works beautifully with your heat pump.
Every installation is different, so we don’t quote over the phone. What we can tell you is that the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant is available to most homeowners, and the whole installation is VAT-free until March 2027. Request an estimate and we’ll give you a clear picture of the full cost, and what you’ll save.
A well-designed system will, and the savings are most significant if you’re currently on oil, LPG or electric storage heating. If you’re on mains gas the picture is more nuanced, and we’ll give you an honest view. Our estimates include real running cost comparisons based on your specific property.
Yes. Modern heat pumps are designed to work efficiently even when temperatures drop well below freezing. The key is correct sizing and design. A system built for your home’s actual heat loss will keep you warm through a British winter without any issues.
Yes, and this is something we take seriously. Every installation comes with a 2-year workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing contracts to keep your system running at its best. We’re local, we’re contactable, and we don’t disappear after installation day.
